Like many others in the Houston area, our home was severely flooded during Hurricane Harvey in 2017. My family awoke to rising water inside our home. When authorities arrived to boat us out of our home, we were forced to leave everything behind. Our house remained inundated with over four feet of water for eleven days. When we were finally able to return, my family had lost most all our possessions, including 2 cars. During the months that followed, our community and people around this great nation stepped up to help us rebuild. Because of the help of many, we overcame our loss, and now, I am able to help others in time of need.
